Ghana has qualified for the round of sixteen in afcon 2019 underway in Egypt. Ghana beat Guinea Bissau two- nil. The team opened fire just under a minute of the second half. About a quarter of an hour to end the game, the second goal came, also from the left with Dede Ayew and Abdurrahman involved in a string of passes before the final delivery.
Forward Jordan Ayew received a lob on the left, he paced up and used his right to issue a diagonal to the right corner of Bissau’s post, completely displacing the goalkeeper.
Bissau however has one of its defenders to blame for his failure to take a quick silver action on Jordan Ayew, just outside the box before the attacker pulled the trigger. That episode of ball watching gave Ghana a lifeline and kept adrenaline pumping in this very important match.
Guinea Bissau nearly cancelled Ghana’s lead but the final delivery, a pile driver rolled across the post with Ghana’s goalie stretched to his elastic limit.
Thomas Partey scored the second for Ghana from close range, benefitting from touches by colleagues.
Ghana found the handle in the turbulent first half during the second session and steered affairs comfortably to the end.
