CAMEROON: 1.5 BILLION FCFA TO BE SPENT ON BOKO HARAM VICTIMS UP NORTH

Governor of Extreme North Region, Midjiyawa Bakari, has launched the “Youth and Stabilization Project for Peace and Security in the Far-North region” at Maroua to finance the growth of young people within the age range of 12 and 25.

The government, last week, released 1.5 billion FCFA to revive the almost lost destiny of the youths in the Far-North region.

The project will  supervise the activities of close to 30,000 youths who are from the most affected towns in the region namely; Fotokol, Makary, Mora, Kolofata, Mokolo and Mayo Moskota.

Official sources also revealed that this project is out for the promotion of peace and unity in this region that has been experiencing social unrest from the Boko Haram terrorists for close to a decade now.

It further has objectives of improving studies in the regions Koranic schools so they can understand the consequences and influences of violence.
