CAMEROON: RUSSIAN ACADEMICS TO TRAIN CAMEROONIANS ON MINING

Some delegates from The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, better known by its Russian acronym RUDN, will soon train Cameroonians on new advanced technologies in the oil, gas and mining sectors from 26-29 August, 2019.

Regarding the rising development of the mining sector in the country with the recently 300 discovered mining sites in the country, official sources say this upcoming training session is needed. RUDN University representatives are therefore coming to train students of the mining sector on how to improve their exploitation skills, and to also recover employment figures in the country.

Starting from 26 August, they will commence activities by holding a seminar on innovative engineering technologies in mining at the University Institute of Oil Science and Management, IUSPM campus in Yaounde. They will further hold a meeting at GICAM in Douala with companies handling mining projects in the country. These companies include Addax Petroleum, Perrenco, Noble Energy Cameroon Limited Yaounde, Victoria Oil and Gas; public limited company Plc (UK) Douala, New Age, Bowleven Oil and Gas Company plc (UK), Georesearch Group, Sundance Resources limited (Australia) Cam Iron SA Yaounde, Jindal Steel and Power (India), Oriole Resources PLC (UK), Zijin Mining Group Company limited (China) and, C and K MINING Incorporation CAMEROON.

According to Audrey Chicot, the sponsor of Multi-Services and Industrial Equipment better known by its French acronym, MSMI and local intermediary of RUDN University, new advanced technologies in the oil, gas and mining sectors will be showcased to the students during the training session.
