Big winner at the Ghana Leadership Awards 2019, Nana Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan Bekoe, who took home the Television Personality of the Year award has hinted  that she would be launching a special suite this year, 2020, which would unravel pertinent challenges facing the media fraternity in Ghana including creating a chance to reduce the cost of advertising and Public Relations services.

The Media Mogul and Made-in-Ghana advocate was adjudged the 2019 Television Personality of the Year during the prestigious Ghana Leadership Awards ceremony which was held in Accra on December 28, 2019.

The annual Ghana Leadership Awards is designed to recognize and celebrate the most outstanding achievements and distinguished leadership that positively impacts the development of Ghana and Africa. The just ended edition of the awards was under the theme: ‘THE LEADERSHIP FUTURE OF THE GHANAIAN AND THE AFRICAN YOUTH’.

In an interview with, Nana Kobi Hemaa intimated that the award has encouraged her to surge forward to crack “one pertinent challenge” confronting the media industry in Ghana.

“Actually next year plans are far advanced for me to launch something new that will solve one pertinent challenge facing the media fraternity”, the Public Relations Practitioner maintained.

“I am currently a Managing Partner with Sempoa Broadcasting Network…next year, we would be unveiling something new… that will bring an opportunity for Made-in-Ghana production.

Our mission is simple, production, advertising and Public Relations should be quality, target focused and result oriented, but it should not be expensive”, she went on.

Yet, the former host and producer of ‘Ghana’s Pride’, a live television program on TV Africa that showcased products of Ghanaian origin and addressed challenges related to trade and industry, would not disclose the exact “pertinent challenge” that Sempoa Broadcasting Network would unravel “so that I can keep the suspense of what we are about to launch.”

Meanwhile, late last year (2019) the celebrated media personality and brand influencer had supported all Ghanaian entrepreneurs, corporate bodies and event organizers by freely advertising their products and services on social media.

Since 2007, she has been at the forefront of roiling out television content that aimed at promoting Made-in-Ghana brands. She is also famous for her unique fashion style of adorning Ghanaian made clothing including headgears, bracelets and the native footwear known in the local parlance as ‘ahenema’.

Nana Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan Bekoe joins other eminent Ghanaian leaders including former President Jerry John Rawlings; Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu; President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; Omanhene of the Oguaa traditional area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II and Business Mogul and Philanthropist, Dr. Kweku Oteng who are previous recipients of the Ghana Leadership Awards.

The Ghana Leadership awards cuts across a broad spectrum of sectors including business, government, academia, philanthropy, media, social sector players etcetera. Other recipients of various awards at the ceremony included the Auditor General, Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelevo; Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Communications; Hon. George Andah, Former Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon Otiko Afisa Djaba; Executive Director of Crime Check Foundation, Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng; CEO of SAMBA Foods, Dr. Mrs. Leticia Osafo-Addo; Former CEO of Mental Health Authority, Dr. Akwasi Osei among others.
