Action Patriots for Justice (APJ) a political group associated with the ruling New Patrotic Party (NPP)  advised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to  immediately sack his appointees who have apparently shown the signs of indiscipline, tired-brains, arrogance of power as well as laziness or else he would lost 2020 general elections to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“We want to ask our President to ensure that his appointees to public positions, who have shown signs of disrespect, arrogance of power as well as laziness towards ‘genuine concerns of New Patriotic Party (NPP) faithful (s) and the public are dealt with drastically,” the group urged Mr Akufo-Addo in a press statement in Accra Wednesday.

The APJ pointed out that the bad behaviors exhibited by some government appointees towards the supporters and members of the political party was identified as one of the causes for the defeat of the NDC in 2016 general.

According to the group, it has keenly observed that some of the appointees of President Akufo-Addo are also still showing the same signs of arrogance towards the NPP followers, the development if not addressed immediately would have tendency to affect the NPP electoral fortune in the 2020 general elections.

The statement which was signed and issued  by the Chairman of APJ, Oheneba Appiagyei, advised the NPP government to put in place effective means of evaluating the works of government appointees, and prevent them from incurring the displeasure of party faithful, as well as the public.

According to the statement, “the NPP was still repeating serious mistakes that it committed in the past, which allowed its our major  political opponent to take over power, and that information was not flowing from the central government to the grassroots level about its policies, programmes and achievements, as well as paying attention to the concerns of the NPP foot soldiers.”

“President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffu Addo and our  New Patriotic Party  have high hopes of retaining power in the 2020 general elections, but creeping indiscipline, “tired-brains”, arrogance of power as well as laziness are entering the heads of some his appointees if not checked could make Nana Addo a one-term President.

“There is no doubt  our government is upbeat about extending infrastructural development to all parts of the country good policies such as, Free SHS, NABCO, 1D1F, 1V1D amongst others and also working to stabilize the economic challenges but these enviable achievements will yield to naught if awful conduct of some government appointees continues,” the statement noted.

“As Patriots ready to take up the cudgels to ensure a convincing victory for the NPP in the December general elections, it is not out of place for us (APJ) to call on the president, to trigger a reshuffle immediately, to oust the tired brains, and all self-serving, and media unfriendly appointees with immediate effect, and get on board committed game changers to propel the NPP government to the expected end,” the statement stressed.
