The persistent refusal of Mr George Tackie Abia to attend to the Accra High Court of Justice to continue the trial of the legal proceedings challenging his capacity of parading himself as the substantive Ga Mantse with false pretence under the stool name, Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II, has landed him into a serious fresh trouble.
Mr Abia has been sued by the accredited elders and principal members of the Ga Paramount Stool Kingmaker (Dzase) and the entire Ga State Paramountcy led by the Ga Paramount Stool Dsase Coordinator, Nii Agyemankese II who is also known as Emmanuel Martey Annan (defendant) for calling himself as a Ga Mantae in Ga State.
The highest chieftaincy position in the Ga State for which the principal and accredited elders of the Ga State Paramouncy stressed, Mr George Tackie Abia does not have any capacity to hold.
They maintained that Mr Abia does not hail maternally or paternally from any of the royal gates in Nii Tackie Commey We, TeikoTsuru, Amugi We and Abola Piam and therefore does not have any royal blood in him, stressing that ‘That is the basic qualifier to be considered for any chieftaincy position.”
However in pursuance of this case in the Accra High Court, Mr Abia was reported to have failed to attend the court without stating any apparent reason to the court of competent jurisdiction.
The development, africanakua.com gathered has angered the presiding judge of the Accra High Court, Justice Gifty Agyei Addo to angrily issue an order for the immediate arrest of Mr Abia and bring him to the court.
The warrant to arrest him which was signed and issued by the Registrar of the Accra High Court, Mr Ekow Dzimm Mensah-Attach and subsequently certified by Justice Gifty Agyei Addo to the police on Monday January 13, 2020 had a warrant suit number CR/292/2019, requiring the police to locate and arrest immediately Mr Abia wherever he is.
The court warrant document intercepted by africanakua.com stated the offense of Mr Abia who is the respondent to the suit which reads in part “Whereas this cause having come before this honourable court for hearing and determination in a quasi-criminal matter.”
The warrant further stated that whereas the respondent failed to attend court without placing before the court evidence that he is out the jurisdiction and upon hearing of Mr Daniel Kupalor with him Beneditta Annan for Kweku Paintsil, counsel for the applicant and Mr Bright Akwettey, counsel for respondent: It is hereby ordered that bench warrant be issued for the arrest of George Tackie Avia, aka Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II, the respondent herein to be brought to the court any day of the execution of the warrant.
It would be recalled that the Ga Paramountcy has denied knowing one Nii Adama Latse II as Ga Mantse after he was purportedly snubbed by some appointees of the ruling government.
The Paramouncy stated that Nii Adama Latse II is not the Ga Mantse of the Ga state as being reported in the social and traditional media platforms.
“The purported George Tackie (Nii Adama Latse II) is not a royal from any of the four Royal Gates of Nii Teiko Tsuru We being Teiko Doku, Korkoi Fio or Adarku Ashong Gates from which candidates can be nominated to ascend unto the Ga Royal Stool.
“Mr. George Tackie does not hail maternally or paternally from any of the royal gates in Nii Tackie Commey We, Amugi We or from Abola Piam and therefore does not have any royal blood in him. That is the basic qualifier to be considered for any position,” the elders and members of the Ga Paramount Stool Dzase and the entire Ga State Paramountcy earlier in the the press statement vividly explained.
Numerous petitions and protests were made against Mr. Abia for their uncustomary and unlawfully break into the Ga Mantse Stool House and Ga Mantse Palace by the Ga Dzase Council and the Ga Traditional Council as far back as June, 2011 to no avail. How can he seek to be a member of any gathering of royals?” the statement asked.
