2020 Presidential Candidate of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Rev. Dr. Christian Kwabena Andrews known in private life as ‘Osofo Kyiri Abosom’ has vowed to sue President Akufo-Addo for demolishing state property solely to establish a National Cathedral if elected as president in the crucial 2020 polls.

President Akufo-Akufo demolished a state property housing some judges in Accra in a bid to establish a National Cathedral in fulfillment of a promise he made to God. The decision received a backlash from many who believed it was a misplaced priority amid Supreme Court action initiated by the Convention People’s Party’s General Secretary, James Kobena Bomfeh. According to the GUM leader, President Akufo-Addo simply could have escaped blame if he acquires a different land to build the national cathedral without demolishing such a state property.

Speaking on an Accra-based TV station GHOne TV, the Charismatic Preacher cum Politician Rev. Dr. Christian Kwabena Andrews said “The only person l will sue is President Nana Akufo-Addo if l am elected president come December 7 for demolishing state property in the name of building a national cathedral for his God, he’s the only one who knows his God”.

The GUM Founder has promised to revamp abandoned factories established by the late President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah including the Juapong Textiles Factory, the Matches factory and the Pwalugu tomatoes factory, revamp mining sector activities and ensure that small scale mining and retail marketing is reserved for only Ghanaians but not foreigners.
The rest of his policies include:
• Free ports.
• Provision of monthly allowance for the aged.
• Training of SHS students in skills acquisition.
• Focus on herbal medicine to deliver universal free health care.
• Free education from crèche.

Meanwhile, the clergyman Osofo Kyiri Abosom’ has blamed President Akufo-Addo for worsening the plight of Ghanaians after lying his way to power on the altar of utopian promises. He further accuses the NPP government machinery of failing to fulfill 2016 electioneering campaign promises including 1D1F, 1 VILLAGE 1DAM, 1CONSTITUENCY 1MILLION Dollars and many others.
“Where are the factories…? It’s all lies because many people cannot find the non-existent factory in their districts”, he quizzed. “It’s very simple…if you can’t do it, you leave for Osofo Kyiri Abosom to do it ”.

Commenting on his electoral fortunes in the race to the presidency, the former basic school teacher, Osofo Kyiri Abosom’ expressed confidence that the “message on the ground is that it is time for GUM to take over the Jubilee House and resolve a myriad of problems facing Ghanaians and put an end to the NDC and NPP duopoly. They have nothing to offer the suffering voters and vulnerable in society, Akufo-Addo will go to opposition, he is a one-term president, no doubt about that, he knows”.

According to the clergyman, Osofo Kyiri Abosom’, the newly born but formidable Ghana Union Movement in the Ghanaian political space, has already been given oxygen of publicity by many as voters welcome the only novel political party in the December polls as a far-best option and alternative capable of tackling the long-existing challenges confronting the masses and taking Ghana to the promised land.
GUM was formed two years ago intended to break the NPP and NDC duopoly with the slogan “Arise for Development”. According to Rev. Dr. Christian Kwabena Andrews, “responses and supports on the grounds from the nook and cranny, based on the party’s active electioneering campaign,” shows that he is able to hold grounds against his key competitors, the NDC and NPP at the polls.
