Director General of Cherryfield Montessori School Madam Magdalene Dzifa Adzanu has urged political parties participating in the crucial 2020 general elections to commit to peace.
12 political parties are battling it out in the race to the presidency with 275 parliamentary candidates vying for various seats across Ghana.
Speaking to Africa Nakua’s Jerry Akornor ahead of the December 7 polls, Madam Magdalene Dzifa Adzanu said “Ghana has had several peaceful elections in the past and we are praying that things will continue to be peaceful, every political party should commit to peace”.
She urged political parties to seek redress at the court in line with procedures prescribed in law. Apart from this, she wanted the EC to immediately resolve the growing phenomenon of voters taking pictures of their votes.
She told Africa Nakua that “If you are dissatisfied with the outcome, use the appropriate legal procedures to seek redress, EC should address the practice where voters take pictures of their votes”.
Madam Magdalene Dzifa Adzanu has appealed to the Jean Mensa-led Electoral Commission to ensure a transparent, credible and fair election. According to her, the electoral management body should continue to build consensus on controversial matters through dialogue.
Meanwhile, the Educationist Madam Magdalene Dzifa Adzanu has urged students at the pre-tertiary level to scale up participation in extra curricular activities in order to fully optimise their potentials.
